Okonomiyaki bread (お好み焼きパン)

Hello!

I'm going to introduce you the recipe of Okonomiyaki bread today. You might wonder what it is, so I'll show you the picture. ⇓

Okonomiyaki bread is very similar to Okonomiyaki. But instead of a dough, my family uses bread for this dish. You might think this is very hard to make, but actually it is very easy. It doesn't even take 30 minutes to make this dish, so it is possible for people who are busy to cook their meal without worrying the time. Also because it is very simple, people who don't often cook, or who thinks they are not a good cook can also cook this without any problem.

So let me tell you the ingredients and show you how to make it step by step. I really persuade you to try making it and eat this dish, because it's very delicious!

Serving quantity: makes 2 okonomiyaki bread

Ingredients:
  • Egg (2)
  • Bread (2 loaf)
  • Cabbage
  • Spring onion (青ネギ)
  • Ham
  • Okonomiyaki source
  • Mayonnaise
☆As long as you have 2 eggs and 2 loaf of bread, you can put any other vegetables or ingredients that you like in it. Also, it doesn't matter how much vegetables or other ingredients you put in.

Material needed:
  • Mixing bowl
  • Frying pan
  • Aluminium foil (or an oil)
  • Chopstick
  • Knife
Directions:
  1. Cut Cabbage, ham, spring onion and other vegetables or ingredients you are going to put into small, thin slices.
  2. Cut the bread so it shapes like a square.
  3. Crack the egg into the mixing bowl and mix it.
  4. Turn the gas onto the low heat and put the aluminium foil (or an oil) on the frying pan. Then put the edge of the bread on it.
  5. Put all the ingredients which you sliced at the beginning inside the bread.
  6. Mix and fry the ingredients which you put it in until it gets soft.
  7. Pour the egg inside the bread, where the ingredients are fried. Then mix the ingredients and the egg together.
  8. Put the square piece of bread on top of the mixture.
  9. Put the lid on the frying pan and leave it about 2 to 3 minutes.
  10. Turn the bread over and check if it is cooked. And then put the lid on again and leave it for another 2 to 3 minutes.
  11. Turn the bread over again and check if both side of the bread it well cooked.
  12. Serve it on the plate. I recommend you to put Okonomiyaki source and mayonnaise on it.
  13. Finish!!

Fast Food...?

Hi! Today I am going to introduce you one video about fast food, which relates to the book "Chew On This".

Did you that 1 fast food humberger contains meat from 100 different calfs? This video is mainly about fast food in america, and tells us many surprising facts which we never knew before. For example, the history, the number of fast food restaurants in america and so on. This is why I chose this video. It is only about 2 minutes long, and it's very fascinating so I really recommend you to watch it!

"Chew On This"

Chew On This

by Eric Schlosser and Charles Wilson

Have you ever read this book before? This book is mainly about America's food and fast food industry.

I chose this book because I'm interested in fast food and America's food cuisine. But also, I wanted to know about the true facts about the fast food. Nowadays, we can find fast food restaurants like Mcdonald's and KFC anywhere we go, even in the foregin countries. But have you ever thought about what is really inside them? How they get the meat for the humbergers, and how the fast food became very popular? I haven't, and I think many of us haven't. This is why I wanted to know about the true fact, which not many people know about fast food.

So far, I learnt that fast food business has started in southern California. I also learnt that Americans spend more money on fast food than on education, software, newspapers and so on. Very surprising isn't it?

Here are some detail about the 2 author:

  • He works as an American jornalist.
  • Studied American history at university.
  • Won National Magazine Award and Sidney Hillman Foundation Award.
Charles Wilson

  • He is a writer and published 9 books in total.
  • Before becoming a writer, he worked as a farmer and enjoyed coaching the little league baseball and basketball, and also worked as a football coach.

What is a food blog?

Do you know what a food blog is? To tell the truth, I didn't know what the food blog was until I came across the blog called "The year in food"(http://theyearinfood.com/). This food blog is written by a person called Kimberley, a photographer. It is a blog about seasonal food and she started writing a blog in 2007. Although she was using this blog for advertising her cookbook, she also used it to share her interest with other people.

When I first looked at this blog, I was attracted by the eye catching photographs of the food which she made. Although there was no specific political, social, ethical messages, I was inspired by how she shared her favorite thing with other people. I hope I can share my favorite thing as well through my blog too. Also, she wrote each postings like a diary, which made me more interested in it. By looking at this food blog in detail, I now understand what the food blog is. I hope I can make my blog interesting and attractive like Kimberley's food blog, with some text and attractive, colourful pictures and facts. I also hope that I can communicate with many different people like Kimberley's blog to help me make my blog even more exciting to look at.

Hello everyone!

Hello and nice to meet you!

I'm Yuka and I'm a university student. I have once lived in England and I love visiting many countries, especially Europe. But I also like eating. My favorite food is pizza and pasta, and love Italian food. I also like sweets and fruits. However, I'm not very good at cooking. So through my blog, I'm planning to share some of the unique but easy and quick recipies that people who think they are not a very good cook like me can also cook in short time, and eat delicious dishes without any problem.

This is my first time writing a blog and I will do my best to make it entertaining.
Hope you enjoy my blog.😃
